How to make the most of the annual event celebrating Hypnosis worldwide

The whole point of World Hypnotism Day (WHD), is to create awareness for the general public about Hypnotherapy and get media coverage for Hypnosis as a healing modality.  I would also ad, that every thing you do should be FUN.

With that in mind, let’s dive into Marketing Strategy #2 — Write an Article.  There are many things you can do with an article, and I’ll get to those in a minute, but first some writing tips for your article.

You have been blessed with having one of the most fascinating topics in the world to write about.  People are ALWAYS curious about hypnosis.  All you have to do is say "I’m a Hypnotist", and you’ll have even complete strangers wanting to know more.

Yet somehow, most the articles written on hypnosis make it dull, dry, and painfully boring.  I often wonder how this is possible, because it seems like it would take a lot of effort to make hypnosis boring, and it would be easier to let it stay fascinating.

But I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt, and blame it on way they teach us to write in school.   So from this point on, throw out what you learned in school and follow these simple tips.

World Hypnotism Day was created for the purpose of getting media attention and increasing public awareness about Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy.

You should be focusing all your activities around getting media coverage, because this is going to be your best opportunity to get stories written about you and your business.  The media love stuff like this, and you’ll be doing them a favor.

Reporters, talk show hosts, news anchors… they all get bored with the same old news just like we get bored with the routine in our lives.  And Hypnosis is something that always makes people curious so it’s GOOD FOR RATINGS.

But… they won’t come knocking at your door looking for the story, you need to make it easy for them.  This starts with a Press Release.

Now, writing one may seem like a challenging task if you haven’t done it before, but with a few basics and a few samples, you’ll find it’s actually easy to do.  In my opinion, getting the press release to the right person is the bigger challenge, but now thanks to the Internet even that isn’t so hard.

Here’s the basic steps:

1. Write the press release

2. Send press releases out

3. Follow up (when appropriate)

You should have an event in your community for World Hypnotism Day, and you should be letting everyone you know about it, as well as contacting all your local media outlets in time for them to run a story.
